For the record I am a delivery driver. I am driving on the roads of Memphis at least seven hours a day. I obey all the rules of the road. Not because I have to, but because it is proper. The speed limit is the speed limit for a reason. It is a safety procedure. If you want to race your car then take it to the track and get off of the street.
The Memphis Commercial Appeal recently wrote an article on how many tickets the Memphis Police are giving out on the interstates. The Commercial Appeal quoted one enraged citizen saying police resources should not be used for pulling people over for speeding. Coming from someone who is driving all day for a living, this is exactly what the Memphis Police should be pulling people over for.
The speed limit is a law that should be followed regardless of your personal life or situation. Surprisingly nine out of ten people will not go the speed limit. I travel down two lane roads with a posted speed limit of 35MPH all day long. Every day someone makes an illegal dash around me on these roads because they are too important to go the speed limit and have no concern for the laws of the road. Laws of the road are not rules you can bend or break whenever you want. Like I said before, "If you want to race, take it to the track and get off of the street".
You may think you have a fast car and can go 5 or 10 miles over the speed limit since you are so cool in your fast car. News flash - you still have to go the speed limit. I have a 2011 Nissan Versa with under 10 thousand miles. I go the speed limit. I also have a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire GT 2.4L DOHC that I have turned into a racing beast that smokes every Mustang GT in it's path. I go the speed limit. The Memphis International Raceway offers you a chance to take your car as fast as you can get it in a safe environment. So stop speeding and obey the laws of the road.
If you get pulled over for speeding than you can only blame yourself. You should thank the officer that pulled you over for making the streets a safer place to drive. I have always believed this. I have seen some stupid drivers in my 10 years of driving in Memphis and those stupid drivers don't seem to care about anyone other than themselves. These are the people that I have trained myself to spot and to avoid on the road.
How do you avoid the drunks, texting idiots, and late for work "rushers", on Germantown Parkway going 50MPH? Skill. Within two seconds of looking at a person and how they are driving I can determine their whole driving style and know to stay clear of their death machine on wheels or stay near them.
Speed limits, blinkers, smooth braking, proper trailing distance - These laws have become rather guidelines to modern drivers who seem to be unimpressed with their importance. They are laws for a reason. We as citizens follow laws to uphold a decent society. Police enforce laws to uphold a decent society. We all work together. Idiots break the law and continue to break the law everyday.
I agree that Police should not waste their time pulling people over for traffic violations because there should be no violations in the first place if people would just follow the laws. I wish there were traffic cops driving around all day catching people doing illegal things on the road. Maybe that would stop the speeders on Walnut Grove who seem to go 20 miles over the speed limit and don't care.
All types of people speed in their cars. I say "Boys race on the street, Men race on the track". However there is one stereotype that I have come to conclude in my everyday observations. Fat people speed the most. My theory for this is that fat people cannot walk fast, run fast, or do anything fast, so they feel the need to speed in their vehicles because it's the only way they can be fast. It's just a theory but I will leave it to you to decide.
However you look at it, speeding is speeding. One or two miles an hour over the speed limit could be an accident. As soon as you hit five miles an hour over the speed limit then it is premeditated and intentional speeding. Most people say they always drive five miles over the speed limit on a normal street and ten miles over the speed limit on the highways. My question to those people is "Who the hell do you think you are?". You are not above the law. Follow the rules or take it to the track. You can argue but I'm right and you know it. If you don't think I'm right than your perspective on right and wrong is skewed and you should enroll in a local elementary school for summer classes to learn basic principles of morals.
There are two sides to this story you can choose to support. You can support the police and the laws of the road or you can support the speeder. All of this blog article is because of an article I read from the Memphis Commercial Appeal, "Memphis police crackdown on interstate speeders draws anger, relief from drivers". The article chose to lean on the side of the speeders in stead of supporting the local Police in this controversial issue. This is an outrage when I would see the day the local newspaper did not support the Police upholding the law. That's how routine the average person makes speeding. This must change.
To all the speeders out there I say this one more time, "take it to the track and get off of the street". To all the police giving speeding tickets I say "thank you and could you please post up on Walnut Grove, Dexter, and Macon by Houston Levee". Follow the laws of the road and you have no issues getting pulled over.

Everyone likes to come home to a nice smelling apartment or house. No person would want to be embarrassed by a funky odor in their home. The truth is people smell, trash smells, pets smell, food smells, and everything else in your home smells. You fight to cover up the smells by taking out the trash regularly, showering, cleaning, and other odd chores to keep a tidy home. Sometimes it just isn't enough for a fresh smell and you turn to air fresheners and candles for a joyful boost in the atmosphere.
Many options exist for freshening your home. The most common options are spray air fresheners and candles. Potpourri isn't that common anymore yet it still exist for an additional option. Oils with diffusers are a constant nuisance to keep a powerful scent. Candles are quick and easy however the cheap candles are not that powerful for covering scents.

Best Place to Buy a Fan
Summer is here and it's a hot one. The most important item in a southern home is the air conditioning unit. Around here in Memphis, air conditioning units break often and fans are used in their place. So where should you go to buy a new fan to help keep you cool this summer? The answer is Walmart. Or you could just pay an over priced fee at your local hardware store for a fan you don't like.
Fans are used for different reasons in different areas. The main purpose of a fan is to cool things down by blowing air around. As fan technology has improved so has our understanding of air movement. Fans don't just blow air anymore, unless you want a fan that does just that. What do you want your fan to do? Simply push air in your face? Move the air around? Create ripples throughout the air moving around? Do you want the fan on your desk? Do you want it in the corner of your room? These questions will help you decide what type of fan you want.
The question of what fan is suited best for you can only be answered by you. The classic twenty inch box fan is a powerful choice for air movement but it is very limited in the area it covers. An elevated oscillating fan would have a wider area it could cover with air movement but that's all it will be is just movement. A desk fan may be suited for you as long as you don't keep paperwork on your desk. The standing tower fans provide a more comfortable breeze like feel due to the angles of the separate vents on the fan. This is the preferred choice for modern households because it will do more for your cooling comfort than to just push air at you. You also have the option to purchase multiple blade oscillating fans which will enhance the breeze like feel of the air.
If those choices aren't good enough for you then you need to take the next step up and purchase a portable air conditioner or window unit. Look for a later article on how to purchase those and feel confident about it working all summer.

Surprisingly they had more fans than Lowe's and at better prices. If they were a little lower than I would have bought one. I went to my local Walmart where it seems I get everything and found a whole aisle of fans at amazing prices.
Walmart shocked me being the best place I had visited for fans. Especially since I just left two home improvement stores empty handed. True the more impressive fans were higher priced but I had options here. You name the price and Walmart had a fan. Whether you wanted to spend 5,10,15,20,50, or 60 dollars, they had a fan for you. I ended up spending sixty dollars on a nice tower fan with a remote. I am happy I had multiple options to chose from and ended up finding the right fan for me. The fan is just temporary until my air conditioner is repaired but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't have options. This day and age you should not settle for anything other than what you want.

Where is the Best Place for an Oil Change
Who doesn't dread the time to change your motor oil and filter? I used to love it before my life became too busy for me to enjoy working on my car. So where is the best place to get your oil changed? Some people say a dealership, while others believe the quick service stations are the best choice. How do you decide which is better? Let me decide for you.
Quick service stations are convenient however there are just more negatives than positives for them. Many horror stories are passed around on how a quick service station forgot to put the oil cap back on or didn't fill the oil back up and blew the engine. Yes this kind of neglect still exists in modern society. Mistakes will happen. It will more likely happen at a quick service station than a dealership though.
Quick service stations hire the trained and continue training their employees. I cannot speak for all quick stations in general but a few things to consider when choosing a shop are the management staff, the amount of employees, the age of employees, and is there a master mechanic. Most small time shops have bad answers to these questions.
If the manager continuously curses then find a new shop. When working on cars, things go wrong. "Having the right tool is everything.". Everyone curses but continuous cursing is a sign things are going bad and lack of knowledge is the culprit. Knowing how to fix spontaneous problems is a blessing in the auto mechanic world.
The amount and age of employees is another factor when choosing a shop for your vehicle. Several employees is a good sign jobs can be accomplished in a timely manner. With only two employees working the time it takes for a simple oil change could take hours if there is a wait. Spontaneous problems do happen everyday when working on cars. Even the simplest jobs could turn into a giant nightmare for the trained professional mechanic due to complications. Age and experience help tremendously to overcome those issues. Young mechanics could get the job done just fine. I was working on cars at a young age. However mistakes do happen.
Master mechanics are the elite of the auto mechanics. They always have an answer to any problem. Like when a mistake happens during an average oil change. How hard is it to change oil? It is a simple process. However I did leave very satisfied having a clean shiny car, no worries about voiding my warranty, and absolutely no worries that someone forgot to put the oil cap back on. All for about ten dollars more than it would cost me at a quick service station. Took about the same amount of time. I also got to watch a big screen tv while I waited in a very comfortable waiting chair. Trust me, taking your vehicle to a dealership is the best option. You win in the long run.

Urgent Healthcare for Your Pet
How many people have pets? I know I do. Are you prepared for your pets emergency healthcare? I know I'm am, but I was not prepared for an emergency until earlier today. I have three adorable cats and one very loyal dog. My first cat, Java, I acquired when she jumped into my arms and attempted to climb into my shirt for warmth during thirty degree weather. She happened to come across me in the middle of a gang fight. My second cat, Lucifer, was given to me by my girlfriend. My third cat, Sade, I found in the gutter during freezing rain. My dog, Hero, was brought over by my girlfriend. Needless to say I love all my pets and treat them as family and not pets. They are my friends and I am proud to have them in my family. That being said I would do anything to keep them healthy. So how prepared are you for your pets medical needs? I was sorely unprepared for the recent emergency that affected my family.
I may have been brainwashed by society into getting my pets fixed but that's about all the vet experience that they have had. They have never been sick or needed special attention. So when my cat Lucifer gave signs of a UTI, urinary tract infection, I immediately jumped on the internet and started research. If you are fortunate enough to have a vet friend then you could skip the hours of mindless bland information that appears on the internet. If you don't have a vet friend then good luck sifting through all the information to find possible answers for your pets sudden illness.

I live in Memphis where emergency pet centers and twenty-four hour vets are not common. Most of the vets located in Memphis do not have a website or an answering machine to give you any information on hours or prices. Of course you can never put a price on your pets health but you only have limited funds to work with. I just left my local vet's office and spent right over one hundred dollars for medicine to clear up Lucifer's UTI. But if it came down to it I would sell everything I have for his health. After I heard his painful cry meow I knew I would do everything in my power to give him the care he deserves.
So now I ask you and all other pet owners to find your local animal emergency center and twenty-four hour vet and save their number into your phone. I currently have every auto parts store within five miles programmed into my phone. I can make room for some new important numbers. I guess it just never crossed my mind to put these numbers into my phone. That may sound immature and unprepared but I guess I was. There is no excuse for not being prepared for an emergency. Technically a UTI is not a huge emergency to most people, but my friend and pet being uncomfortable and in pain IS an emergency to me. (So why didn't I call in to work instead of taking him to the vet after work? I make cash everyday and needed to make some money to pay the vet.)

Anti-Seize Spark Plug Lube - Is it Important?
Automotive tune-ups can cost you thousands or just a couple twenty dollar bills on parts and labor but every penny saved counts in this economy. Some jobs the average person who is mechanically inclined can perform with little research. Along with this new found ability to attempt a tune up on an automobile comes the unfortunate quality to be suckered into buying useless items you don't really need by the sales clerk at the local auto parts store. Some items you may actually need where as others are just gimmicks that are not important in functionality or performance. Refer to a previous post here( Light Bulb Grease ) to read about how you do not need to buy headlight bulb grease. So how do you determine what is important and what is a gimmick? The answer is research and experience.
Spark plug anti-seize lube is critically important and is in a rather unimportant spot at the auto parts stores. Spark plugs are usually the easiest tune up job the average and first time mechanic tackle. Spark plug anti-seize lube is usually located close to the registers next to the headlight bulb grease and candy bars, both of which you don't need. So the anti-seize seems unimportant where it is located. The clerk always offering it to you like a persistent salesman who works on commission also doesn't help the argument to spend the two extra dollars. Take my advice and spend the money and remember to use it.
Spark plug anti-seize lube is sold solely to prevent the metal seizing during dis-assembly. I usually change my spark plugs out every six months because I love the fresh power from new performance plugs. Most average people change their spark plugs every two to five years. So I ask my self how seized could the spark plugs get in six months? I can see how they may lock up after a couple of years but I would never let my car go that long without changing them. Average torque pressure for spark plugs is only twelve pounds of pressure. So ask yourself the question, "Are you strong enough to break twelve pounds of pressure?". That's what I asked myself when I bought to parts for my last tune-up and skipped over the spark plug anti-seize lube to save myself two dollars.
Now I will explain how it all went wrong. After six months had passed, I went and bought the performance spark plugs to give my car a tuneup. A little background information on the scenario is that it is winter and I have made several short trips in the car every day. That means the spark plugs were continuously heated and cooled multiple times a day. That means the spark plugs will naturally become tighter within the engine. This I knew would happen. This always happens. The day I decided to change my spark plugs was first thing in the morning on a cold winter's day. I did not start the engine to warm up the plugs to make them easier for removal. Make note of my mistake.
So I started to work on the car and got my torque wrench out to break the tension and remove the old spark plugs. The first plug came out easy, just the same as it always does. The second one came out a little with a little more difficulty. It actually made me a little nervous how hard it was to remove it. I'm not weak by any means but the threads could have broken. Then I put the wrench on the third plug, began to turn, and the unthinkable happened. The spark plug broke off with the threads still inside the engine. My heart sank. My world stopped. I was in trouble.
I instantly knew my only options. First option was to use a screw extractor. I didn't have one. The second option was to take the entire head off and take it to a shop where the broken plug would be removed and re-threaded. The third option was to try and JB Weld the spark plug together and try again. Yes, the third option is a stupid idea. And yes I tried it. No it did not work. I made several calls to shops who all told me I was out of luck and needed a new engine or to bring them the head and they could maybe see if they could fix it. My world was spinning. I needed my car for work. How did this happen? I was cheap and decided to save the two dollars on spark plug anti-seize lube. I never expected the spark plug to become seized within such a short period of time.
That day was a very dark and troubling time for me and my car. My good friend Michelle knew a mechanic who offered to attempt to remove it for me. He showed up drinking a beer and ever so nonchalantly removed the seized thread like it was no issue at all. I immediately grabbed a new plug and threw it in anxious to hear my car's engine roar with life again.
Though my situation turned out with a happy ending where I didn't need to replace my engine or spend hundreds of dollars removing the head to be re-finished, most people have a sadder ending. All of this could have been avoided if I would have bought the spark plug anti-seize lube. It took me eight days of searching for someone to fix my car. That was eight days off of work I couldn't afford all because I cheaped out on a two dollar package of spark plug anti-seize lube.
Take it from me, always use spark plug anti-seize lube. I keep two extra packets in my tool box just in case I run out of money or I am working on a friend's car and they forgot to purchase some. Healthcare Options for the Poor Man
Everyone gets sick now and again. Maybe you can manage to make it through your work shift. Maybe the sickness is too bad to make it to work. As fortunate as I am to have a job, I have to work seven days a week to maintain enough income to support myself and my family. For the average poor American like myself, the options for healthcare are severely limited.
So how do you get back on your feet? How do you beat the cold, flu, or other sickness to get back to your daily lifestyle? No one can afford to take several days off of work, so time is precious and limited. If you have health insurance then you don't need to read this, but for the rest of us who can't afford health insurance and are the wrong type of person to receive help from the government this advice is for you.
Action needs to be taken immediately when you notice signs of a cold or illness. First start to drink more liquids. Drinks with added vitamins are instantly helpful at this time. Emergen-C, Sunny D, Orange Juice, and other fruit drinks with added vitamins are highly recommended. Just watch out for the amount of sugar in the drinks you choose. Next start to take vitamins. You should take one multivitamin and several vitamin C pills per day until you regain your health. I recommend buying the gummy vitamins for adults and take two when you wake up, two with every meal, and two before bed time. Yes that is more that the average daily value but when you are sick you need more than the average amount of vitamins to regain your health. Finally try and calm your symptoms with over the counter medicine such as sinus pills or cold/flu medicine. This part is where most people get carried away. You cannot depend or rely on over the counter medicine. It will not heal you, it will only calm your symptoms.
Eating healthy is also a major contributing factor in fighting off a cold or flu. I have had colds so severe that I can't seem to keep any food down much less keep trying to eat. Your body needs the nutrition in food to provide assistance in fighting the cold or illness that you are faced with. Try and only eat healthy foods during your sickness. There will be plenty of time for junk food and sodas after you get over your cold but during try and stay eating healthy.
If your sickness is so severe that you believe you need a doctor then by all means go. Sometimes it's not that easy. If you have no money at all you can go to the hospital but they will send you a bill for over one thousand dollars. My bill from St. Francis Bartlett was over twelve hundred dollars for them to see me for twenty minutes when I was sick. You could always go to a minor medical center but be prepared to spend around two to three hundred dollars just on the initial visit. Then you still have to buy prescriptions, vitamins, healthy food, etc. You have probably already taken off work for a day or two so all this money is almost impossible to come by. The only other option in Memphis is The Little Clinic in Kroger's grocery stores. The initial visit at The Little Clinic is only eighty dollars and is the cheapest doctor you can find to prescribe you the precious antibiotics you need to fight the cold.
I can't afford a doctor every time I get sick and really can't afford one when I need one so I have this way to fight my colds. Don't Waste Your Money On Light Bulb Grease
Have you ever needed to change a light bulb in your car? You probably went to the local auto parts store and asked for a new bulb, then watched as they hassle you into buying useless light bulb grease. Do you really need it? Will it help? Will it hurt? Do you have the extra cash? These questions came up and turned into a loud argument at the local auto parts store with my friend refusing to be taken for a fool.
It all started when my friend from work had a taillight bulb out. Since I do all the maintenance to his 2007 Camry he asked me for advice. It took me literally twenty seconds to ask him to pop his trunk and remove the bulb. Then I sent him to the auto store and said, "Get one of these. Two if you can afford them. And don't get the grease, you don't need it. It should cost you about four dollars.". He took me on my word and proceeded to the store where he got into an all out verbal confrontation with the clerk.
He called me and said they didn't have a single pack. He was tight on money and wanted to know if there was another store closer with single packages of bulbs. Regrettably the other store was about four miles away and simply wasn't worth the trip. Then I heard the argument. Apparently the clerk thought no one in their right mind would sell single package tail lights. He is wrong. Plenty of stores do. Also without my friend knowing he tried to slip in the useless light bulb grease for two dollars more. A few unfriendly words later and the clerk was strong on his opinion I was an idiot for telling my friend not to buy the grease. This is Memphis. My friend very forcefully told him where he could go and how to get there.
Anyhow this story happens all over the country and don't let it happen to you. You do not need any light bulb grease, it will cause harm in the long run. The main purpose behind light bulb grease is to prevent corrosion on the current bulb and ease replacement for future bulbs. The problem about shoving a gel substance into an electric socket is that with time is becomes thick and causes problems. I've changed many bulb sockets because of the grease thickening and shorting out the terminals within the socket. This may only be a fifteen dollar fix to replace the harness, but it may cost consumers one hundred dollars to have their vehicle replaced at a dealership.

With properly sealed light fixtures corrosion should never be an issue. Therefore you can rest assured if you don't use the grease then you won't have corrosion problems because there is generally never a corrosion issue. I have seen it before, but only in leaky fixtures where water is continuously in the area. Light bulbs are also very easy to remove without needing additional help by the lubricant grease. If you need help changing a light bulb strength wise then I don't think you need to be changing a light bulb. Never the less you can still know the process and not become one of the millions of consumers who buy needless items because someone says they need it.

Business Marketing the New Way
Another day, another dollar at work. After work I go do my side jobs working on people's cars for extra money to pay the bills. Sometimes I wish I had more business. Other times I wish I had more time. Either way I know I wish I had a company name. Maybe that would get me more side jobs to help me out paying my bills. So why not? Then it hit me. I can just make a business name, get some business cards and stickers, then just wait for the phone calls.
I needed a great company to provide service to an average guy like me. I don't want a minimum order of 100,000 business cards or stickers. So many places were out of the question immediately. I found Vista Print and it saved my idea. But this is an investment in my business that will bring me money.

Best Places to Buy Superhero Shirts Locally
So it's summer now and my wardrobe needs to be updated. I don't buy clothes often, but at least once a year I try and give my family and friends a break and wear something different for once. So I embarked on a mission to buy some t-shirts the other day and was seriously disappointed at most places I went. Through the lame, bland, and obnoxious t-shirts I found some real winners at surprising places.
I had an idea in my mind of just some cool shirts that I wanted to buy. Maybe some tribal print something or other, maybe a polo shirt, maybe a shirt with a brand name or a dragon or something. I never imagined I'd revamp my wardrobe with superhero shirts. But it happened. Am I'm happy with it.
I started out at the local mall and walked out of Macy's, Dillard's, and JCPenny's empty handed and wallet still filled. I only half way expected to find something cool there anyway. Then I walked out of Hot Topic empty handed and knew the economy just wasn't cool this year. Then I went to Spencer's Gifts and wasn't happy there either. They had the most obnoxious Jersey Shore look alike shirts out of all the places I went. After that I happen to walk into FYE and was shocked to see awesome shirts at decent prices. So I got The Big Bang Theory shirts. I headed over to Target and wow talk about lame. Walmart was literally right next to Target and that's where I hit the jackpot.
I didn't plan on buying 5 superhero t-shirts to revamp my wardrobe. But it happened. Am I'm happy with it. I'm not all into superhero everyday or anything but I watch the movies and play the video games on XBOX 360 and Wii. I saw some really thin custom looking shirts and it is Summer so I picked some up, liked the look, and I bought three of them. One Batman, one Superman, and one Spider-Man shirt. I'm not a real big Spider-Man fan but the shirt looked awesome so I got one. All those shirts had just the basic superhero logo on them. Then I saw the Batman The Dark Knight Rises shirts, loved the look of them, and purchased two. I was extremely surprised to find these awesome shirts at Walmart but super stoked that my journey for some new t-shirts had finally ended after hours of being let down at the mall.
Not everyone will have a mall close to them or an FYE inside that mall, but everyone has a Walmart near them. I was looking to buy more tribal dragon type stuff like all my other shirts, but I have a closet full of those right now and could use something different. My recommendation for new t-shirts this Summer is to stop by your local Walmart and look at the Batman and other superhero shirts.

When To Say "Bless You"
Everyone does it, and everyone says it. I'm talking about one person sneezing and another person saying "Bless You". This scenario happens everywhere. Some people say it regardless of who it is. Do you say "Bless You" to people you don't know? Do you say "Bless You" to people you do know? Whether it's your religion or beliefs that influence your decision, you have thought about it and made a quick decision on the spot to say or not say "Bless You".
My personal beliefs come from the core feelings of the soul. I only say "Bless You" to people I know and care about. For me to utter the words "Bless You" means that I have taken my personal energy into asking the world to bless you because of the sneeze that occurred which is universal for sickness. My energy left my body to do good in the world. So why waste that on a stranger. My energy is not unlimited. Ya it will replenish but not instantly.
Whereas others believe it rude to not say "Bless You" every time anyone sneezes, I find it rude to say "Bless You" unless you know and care about the person. What if a psycho says "Bless You" to me? What is his version of "Bless"? Will that hurt my life? Am I superstitious or deep down does this make sense? Instant Coffee That Doesn't Suck
Coffee, the savior and morning shock to hundreds of thousands of people, has a special place in most people's lives. Whether you have one or two cups in the morning, maybe one for the road later, in the afternoon or evening you have probably tried instant coffee. The recipe for instant coffee basically consist of a spoon full of coffee, sweetener, flavoring, add boiling water, add milk. Quick and easy. The only problem is in general instant coffee has a knack for being horribly tasteless and bland. I still drank instant coffee every day and tried several brands until I found one that was worth staying with, Nescafe Taster's Choice single serve packets.
I saw them and thought,"Wow, that looks like the packets you add to bottle water". So I thought I'd give them a try. Nescafe Taster's Choice single serve packets were very reasonably priced compared to Starbucks. The simple packet design literally seals in the freshness for superior coffee. Ya I could buy the beans and grind it myself for ultra fresh coffee but honestly I'm just too lazy and busy to do that. My days are hectic and my nights don't seem to slow down. My Child the Star
So imagine you are out at the store with your baby getting the essentials. Food, juice, diapers, and everything your future star needs to grow strong. You see the pictures of babies and children on the packages and think. "Why not my child on these. But I don't live in California or New York where they do the modeling auditions. And I don't want to seem like 'that' kinda of parent.Or am I a lazy parent for doing nothing?"
Now you are confused. What is the "proper" thing to do? Take a picture! Your star is not just a star to you. If you have good common sense than you really see something there that "is" there. Take a picture, upload it, and wait for stardom. Look at the advertisement on this page for a direct link to upload your child's photo and await stardom. Some parent's would say it's not right to put your child to work by doing nothing in front of a camera, however everyone I know would have loved to be a child star. The Easy "A" Nightmare is Over
The final verdict is in for my final grade of an "F". That was a mistake. I nearly jumped in joy that the professor made a mistake on my id #. Now I can relax and enjoy the summer. Wait what am I saying, I've got work to do. I've got bills. I've got car insurance to pay. But most important on my list is buying a new video game since during school semesters it seems I have to keep the consoles turned off.
So what's new in the video game world. What's exciting and interesting. What will keep me interested and entranced for hours to turn into days to turn into weeks? What do I want to buy? XBOX 360? Wii? Maybe look into the new PS Vita ? And what kind of wireless mouse will I buy to replace my current one with a scroll wheel that is going out? Will it be a Microsoft or Logitech mouse? The Easy "A" Nightmare
When it comes to college classes everyone has a couple classes guaranteed to be an easy A due to simplicity or because of the skills the student already has. This is the true story of my easy "A" nightmare. Entering into my third semester of college I had options for electives related to my field of study. I carefully considered them and chose the one that would fit my work schedule. My adviser Mr. B was kind enough to explain why it was a bad choice to pick a class just because it was easier to schedule and not make fun of me in the process. He directed me to a class I was unaware of dealing with database manipulation. More specifically it was Oracle database SQL.
That was going to be my third semester at Southwest Tennessee Community College with a concentration in Web Page Development. My classes were Web Page Design, JavaScript, Systems Analysis and Design, and Oracle Database SQL.
Within two weeks of starting the class I realized it was going to be an easy "A". I only had one thing to learn and that was the syntax of the Oracle language. It started off easy enough. I would program code to simply view all files in a folder. Then I would program code to view specific files from different folders. After that, I was creating files, permissions, views, restrictions, the whole works. All in all as long as I knew what I wanted to do, I could program the code appropriately to do exactly what I wanted. This was my easiest class and surprisingly I learned more information Oracle SQL than in any other class I had this semester.
So how did I fail? The day grades were available to students I eagerly checked my status at 8am. Only one grade so far. An "A" in Systems Analysis and Design. Then I panicked. Maybe I only got one passing grade? No they would show me the rest I thought to myself. Even if I failed a class, which I have never done before. I was a little skeptical passing on JavaScript though. I put a "?" for answers on three of the questions on the final.
So the next day comes. My grades were as follows,"A(Web Site Design),A(Systems Analysis and Design),B(JavaScript),F(Oracle). So what happened? I immediately called the Southwest Tennessee Community College and talked to the Admissions and Records office. Their only advice was e-mail the instructor. "How about a phone number so I can get this settled right now huh", is what I said. But that option was out of the question. I believed this was a massive mistake and needed answers.
So I emailed my teacher and gave my login information for the online database we were using in class to show all my grades were above adequate for the class. I passed both mid-terms and both finals no problem. All my homework grades were either a "99" or "100". So what happened. He responded with my login id# was 17 and not 16 like I had been using all semester. So my conclusion is he could find my grades all semester under the id# 16 and when it came time to report grades he mixed mine up and gave me an F. How could this happen?
I get more and more upset the longer it takes to get this issue resolved. I emailed him my phone number hours ago and still haven't heard anything. However I do believe my final grade WILL change to it's proper spot in the A or B area. I absorbed the information in this course as quick as it was thrown at me. This was my version of an easy "A" that has turned into a nightmare. A random fluke or negligence. Who is at fault?

DLC or Game of the Year Edition
Weather your a hardcore gamer or the infrequent achiever you are still a person with bills outside of gaming. When it comes down to extra features there are three type of people. People who need them immediately, people who will get them when the price is right, and people who just don’t care. This article is for the first two choices of people. As far as who I am, I’m a mix of the first two. I need the extras (or at least I think I do), but I also know I have a responsibility for my bills.
Now let me saw a few words about Batman: Arkham City. Arkham City is hands down the best game for XBOX 360 I have ever played. I know people’s styles for games are different and for the record I have only played about 30 games on my XBOX 360. I work hard for my 40 hours a week of minimum wage and want to spend what little bit of money I have for myself in a most awesome manner. So when I buy a game for XBOX 360 I buy a game that cost a lot of money to make. I want great graphics and most importantly I want the character’s mouths to move when they talk. Yes that still happens when companies cheap out and it’s a disgrace to modern gaming and technology in general
So when it came time to buy Batman Arkham City I had two options. I could preorder and get additional content or just buy the game whenever I could raise up enough cash with no guarantee of ever being able to the cool extra content. This brought back bad memories of not getting the solid gold proton pack in Ghostbusters: The Video Game for XBOX 360. When it came time to preorder though, different places offered different “exclusive” content. So which content did I want more? I was torn. I even started to dislike some stores for not even offering the content. I lucked out and bought a leftover disc from the preorder sets and got the Catwoman Pack, Robin Bundle Pack, Challenge Map Pack and Batman: Year One movie download. How did I get that lucky? Maybe fate.
When I got Batman Arkham City I spent hours a day playing and leveling up. Once I completed the game I was stoaked. I had hung in there and completed the story levels. Now here comes the hard part. I would dedicate hours per day completing the side missions and trying to get as many achievements as possible. How could I possibly have more fun with this game? Extra content could give me hours of more enjoyment and additional achievements to pursue. The “exclusive” content I had received with the game was now available for download with a Microsoft Points Card along with other marvelous options for taking my gaming experience even further. I bought most but not all and craved for more. Each bit of DLC took me further into the game. The different Batman Skins even took me away from the game a little with a fantasy within a fantasy adventure.
Just recently I got word of more content that will be available with Batman: Arkham City - Game of the Year Edition. The main spark of interest in my eye is the Harley Quinn's Revenge that features more than two hours of content. That means more levels for me to serve up hot plates of fiery justice as Batman. So as my options would now be to buy the game all over again and have my fun from the very beginning or just purchase the additional content I have missed and am waiting on. It’s probably better for my finances if I just buy the DLC that I’ve missed. Either way I have to have it. I need to be drawn back into a world where I can forget my troubles of real life for a while again.
Summer is here and finals from school are over with. It’s time to get lost into another world. I’m definitely purchasing the DLC Harley Quinn's Revenge for Batman: Arkham City which is scheduled to be released on 5/29/2012. I will have my Microsoft XBOX Live 1600 Points Card ready and waiting for the new DLC. So if you haven’t played Batman: Arkham City then now would be the perfect time to rent Batman: Arkham City and get your skills up to prepare for the awesome release of the Batman: Arkham City - Game of the Year Edition.

UFO Maybe?
I was walking to my car when I saw two planes in the sky.. Then I thought, well that's one plane but that other one is putting off kind of a strange color exhaust and looked like it was made of solid gold. Not like when a white plane is in the sunlight looks kind of gold. Like pure liquid gold. So I started recording and kept about my business driving then it turned around almost instantly. Car Won't Pass Inspection With Nitro Blue Headlights
Today my 1999 Pontiac Sunfire Convertible was taken into inspection for renewal of my auto tags. Everything passed except I was told to get "factory headlights". In my opinion that is an inadequate request. These headlights are perfectly stock. The headlight bulb is a 9007 just as a stock headlight bulb is. The light itself happens to emit light at the 6000K range. So I ask what is the legal spectrum of light to be in? There once may have been a time for a "rule of thumb law" but now with modern technology I think it's time we as a nation got a bit more specific. The annoying blue headlights you see in certain cars in traffic are not 6000K. But I wasn't going to argue. Lucky for me I know the procedure for changing the headlights and happen to have kept my old headlights just in case I had a blow out on one of them. The old lights are Silverstar Ultra's. Logitech M310 Starts to Break After 1.5 Years
After one year and 6 months my Logitech M310 Wireless Mouse is starting to go out. The laser and buttons are fine. The scroll wheel is sticking from inside the mouse. There are two tiny Phillips head screws under the battery cover but would still need further dis-assembly. Fixing it is basically out of the question because with the design and adhesive, it just wasn't meant to be taken apart and put back together. Overall it's been a good mouse and served me well through 3 semesters at school. With the Fleur Black Perl finish, I've gotten countless complements at school. My first instinct was to buy another M310 Wireless Mouse with a new design and possibly take this one apart and fix it after I get a new mouse. Afterall, how hard could it be to fix a wireless computer mouse? It's not rocket science lol. I am looking into current designs for the M310 and will post on my final decision. As for a rating review for my 2010 model M310, I give it a 5 out of 5. The accuracy, comfort, portability (meaning receiver space behind the battery cover), and style give it great usability for the average price of a wireless mouse.
